What a gem in Ballarat. I have never seen the likes of them before. They are so nicely symmetrical and the verandah work looks original.

And just went past and now roof is gone and back being bulldozed leaving what looks like a 3m depth left !

Oh this is such a sad a sad thing to observe. Surely couldn’t it all be restored if someone had the will and loads of cash?

These houses are looking a lot better now with the balconies repaired, the ironwork restored and matching, and fresh paint. A lot of the early Dunedin architects had previously worked in Australia.

I work in GPT, and have always been fascinated by these terraces (and a little disappointed that they’re inhabited by government offices). Thank you for enlightening me – I would’ve never known they were intended as offices in the first place.

I lived in one of the terraces as a little girl in the 80′s and knew Heidi well, she was a lovely German woman. It’s a fantastic spot.

i am currently looking at renting the bottom stairs of this house, you have no idea what this gem hides inside, it is definalty run down but stunning just as much holding many original features. i am hoping i get it but must say on the outside its not pretty!
